KHS’s name was up in lights last night to celebrate the start of Education Week at the Public Education Awards held at Sydney Town Hall.
Two members of our school community were acknowledged for their excellence.
Our school captain, Alice McNee, was awarded the Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement 2024. The Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement is a prestigious award presented to students who have demonstrated high achievement in academic excellence, leadership and commitment to the school community. Only 40 students across the state are awarded this achievement each year which means that this is a wonderful achievement for Alice that she & her family should be proud of. KHS certainly is.
Mrs Louise Ryan, our Business Manager, was awarded The Secretary’s Award for Excellent Service – Teaching and School Operations 2024. The Secretary’s Award for Excellent Service is a prestigious award presented to individuals who have shown outstanding effort in improving the quality of teaching and/or learning outcomes in the NSW public education sector. It recognises an individual’s achievements in providing excellent service and their contributions to their professional communities. Mrs Ryan has worked tirelessly for KHS for over 20 years & is much deserving of this acknowledgement.
We also we very pleased to congratulate Amelia Groth who was also announced as the recipient of a Minster’s Commendation for her student achievement. A certificate will be sent to the school & we will present this to Ameilia .
