About our school

Kempsey High School provides students with a caring and safe environment in which they are encouraged to develop as valued members of the community. Students are offered a wide range of academic subjects with many opportunities to excel in their chosen educational career path.

Kempsey High School is a lighthouse school for agriculture and works closely with our local TAFE to provide alternative programs such as School-based Traineeships. Vocational courses are offered in business, hospitality, primary industries and construction. Kempsey High School offers a wide range of technologies to boost student thinking and problem solving, supporting our students to strive to reach their goals.

Kempsey High School is proud of its long history of educating students of the Macleay Valley and beyond. The school celebrated its 70th Anniversary on 19th April 2000. The school's anniversary celebrations included the production by students of a photographic essay that captured "A Day in the Life of Kempsey High" and a display of memorabilia was held in the Kempsey Mall. A commemorative edition of the school magazine Macleay was published and a newspaper supplement was produced. Kempsey High School has a long tradition of achievement in the academic, civic, artistic and sporting fields. It is very involved in and supported by, the local community.
